U2 XTracts To Debut On U2-X Radio
This week, U2 announced that a new show will debut on U2-X Radio, “U2 XTracts”. It’s presented by Cait O’Riordan, the host of the weekly “Rocky O’Riordan Show.” The first episode will feature appearances by Bono, The Edge, David Byrne, Matthew McConaughey, writer and comedian Phoebe Robinson and Tom Morello of “Rage Against The Machine”. Topics of conversation include racial injustice and the Black Lives Matter Movement, among others. The show will also air on SiriusXM’s Spectrum Channel (28) on Tuesday, October 6 at 9 am EST and New Wave (33) on Wednesday, October 7 at 4 pm EST.
Videos For “Stateless” And “Walk On” Released On U2’s YouTube Channel
U2 released videos for “Stateless” and “Walk On” on their official YouTube channel this week. The video for Stateless, a track recorded during the sessions for All That That You Can’t Leave Behind, includes lyrics. The song was not included on the final cut of All That You Can’t Leave Behind but was featured on the soundtrack for The Million Dollar Hotel in 2000.
The newly remastered HD video for “Walk On” was originally filmed in February 2001 in King’s Cross in London and was directed by Liz Friedlander.
Teaser Clip Released For Phil Lynott Documentary Phil Lynott: Songs For While I’m Away
As reported by Tim Peacock on udiscovermusic.com, a teaser clip of the previously announced Phil Lynott documentary Phil Lynott: Songs for While I’m Away has been released. The film will feature interviews with several musicians who knew or were influenced by Lynott. U2 bassist Adam Clayton is among those who shared their thoughts. Others who contributed include Thin Lizzy’s Scott Gorham, Eric Bell, and Darren Wharton, Metallica’s James Hetfield, Huey Lewis, Suzi Quatro and others.
The documentary will be released later this fall in theaters in Ireland, with a worldwide release to follow.
