@U2 Vertigone Party
May 23, 2005, Paradise Rock Club, Boston, MA
The end WAS as fun as the start!
Hola! Adios! It’s the last stop of the Vertigo Tour’s 1st leg, and @U2 celebrated in style with our Vertigone Party at the historic Paradise Rock Club in Boston! Yes … the same Paradise Rock Club where U2 performed now-famous shows in late 1980 and early 1981!
It was the perfect bookend to our “Vertigo’s Eve” party that kicked off the tour in San Diego. Just as we did then, our special guests in Boston were the African Well Fund and we were thrilled to have this party be the capper to their annual “Build a Well for Bono’s Birthday” fund raising campaign. The campaign, like the party, was a huge success, raising more than $26,000 to help bring clean water where it’s needed in Africa.
We were also joined in Boston by The Joshua Tree Band — you may remember them as the same tribute band that blew the roof off of the Hard Rock at our Swinging To The Music party in November! And special thanks to Rebecca Correia, who opened up for The Joshua Tree Band.
Most of all, thanks to all the great fans who came out for a wonderful night — we had U2 fans from England, Ireland, Canada, and Brazil helping celebrate the end of the first leg of Vertigo.
